Cooling System - Coolant Leaks From Reservoir Hoses

SENTRA; COOLANT LEAK AT UPPER RADIATOR AREA
APPLIED VEHICLE:
2007-2009 Sentra (B16)
IF YOU CONFIRM:
Coolant is leaking from the reservoir tank hose (hose) where it connects to the radiator.
ACTION:
Verify the leak is coming from the hose connection at the radiator.
^ If yes, de-burr and clean off all plastic flashing from the hose connection.
^ Replace the pinch type clamp with the wire type clamp listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section in this bulletin.
^ For repairs, refer to the SERVICE PROCEDURE in this bulletin.
^ If no, this bulletin does not apply. Refer back to ASIST for further diagnosis.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the hose from the radiator connection (connection). See Figure 1.
WARNING:
Let the vehicle cool down enough before starting repairs.
a. Pinch the clamp to loosen it and then slide the clamp past the end of the connection (see Figure 1).
b. Carefully twist the hose (if stuck) and then pull it off the connection.
2. Remove the clamp from the hose.
NOTE:
This clamp will not be reused.
3. Clean and dry off the connection.
4. Remove any and all plastic flashing from the connection.
^ It is recommended to use fine sand paper (150-180 grit).
^ See Figure 2 for example of flashing.
5. Clean off the connection again after using sand paper.
6. Slide the new clamp (P/N 01555-00791) onto the hose.
7. Slide the hose onto the connection until it bottoms out on the collars (see Figure 3).
8. Position the clamp 5 mm (0.2inches) from the end of the hose (see Figure 3).
9. Tighten the clamp screw until it shows 3-5 threads (see Figure 4).
10. Fill the cooling system with proper coolant mix as needed.
