VERSA; HOOD AND FUEL LID RELEASE SERVICE PART INFORMATION
APPLIED VEHICLES: 2007 - 2009 Versa Hatchback and Sedan (C11X and SC11X)
SERVICE INFORMATION:
The Hood and Fuel Lid Release Lever and Cable are now available separately. Do not replace both if only one needs replacement.
^ For release lever replacement, refer to the SERVICE PROCEDURE section starting below.
^ For hood cable replacement, refer to the appropriate section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM).
^ For parts, refer to the PARTS INFORMATION section shown below.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
Remove Release Lever Assembly
1. If found, remove the plastic tie straps (see "a" in Figure 2).
^ Refer to NTB07-071 for tie strap installation.
2. Remove the two bolts holding the lever assembly (see "b" in Figure 2).
3. Pull back on the lever assembly (toward the driver seat), and then drop it down (picture not shown).
^ Do not pull on the levers themselves.
4. Unsnap both white outer cable ends from the handle portion of the lever assembly (see "c" in Figure 2).
^ Note the difference between and location of the hood and fuel lid cable ends before removing. Make sure they go back in their original positions during installation.
5. Remove both inner cable ends from their levers. Figure 3 shows one lever.
^ Pull back on the lever.
^ Rotate the cable to line up with the opening in the lever, and then pull out (see Figure 3).
^ Perform the same procedure on the second cable.
Install Lever Assembly
1. Lever assembly installation is the reverse order of removal.
^ For tie strap installation, Refer to NTB07-071.
NOTE:
The plastic tie straps are considered a shop supply.
2. Once installed, verify both fuel lid and hood release levers operate properly.
