Cube(TM); BATTERY TEST PROCEDURE

APPLIED VEHICLES: 2009-2010 cube (Z12)

SERVICE INFORMATION;

The following procedures MUST be followed in order to correctly test the cube(TM) battery. Failure to follow these procedures may result in incorrect battery test/check result.

When testing batteries with the Midtronics GR8, select Model (from drop down list) and the testing method correct for the Original Equipment battery will be selected automatically.

IMPORTANT:
Do not EVER test the Original Equipment cube(TM) JIS-type battery using the CCA-type method.

For additional information regarding correct testing of Original Equipment JIS-type (like in the cube(TM)) as opposed to CCA-type batteries, see NTB10-038 "Nissan; Testing JIS-Type & CCA-Type Batteries."

NOTE:
When using the Midtronics GR8 to test the cube(TM) battery; if the Midtronics Update Wizard has not been done recently, the cube(TM) will not appear on the Model drop down list (1)

(1) To run the Midtronics Update Wizard for the GR8 tester in CONSULT III:

a. Make sure the cables from the GR8 to the multi-tasker are connected and both units are turned on.

b. Click on the ASIST icon.

c. Click on INFO. Tool Box.

d. Select Midtronics GR8.

e. Midtronics Update Wizard file screen displays.

f. Click on Change MUP File.

g. The Select a MUP file window displays with the path: C:\ProgramFiles\Midtronics\MUW.

h. Select 192-725C and click OK.

i. Click on next and follow the prompts on the Midtronics Update Wizard screen.
