U1000 CAN COMM CIRCUIT

Description

CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial communication line for real time applications. It is an on-board multiplex communication line with high data communication speed and excellent error detection ability. A modern vehicle is equipped with many ECMs, and each control unit shares information and links with other control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, 2 control units are connected with 2 communication lines (CAN-L line and CAN-H line) allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring.
Each control unit transmits/receives data but selectively reads required data only.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE


1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

With CONSULT
1.Turn power switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds or more.
2.Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "HVAC" using CONSULT.
3.Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES- Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" .
NO- Check intermittent incident. Refer to "Intermittent Incident" Intermittent Incident.


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Check CAN communication system. Refer to "Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart" Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart.
