Instrument Cluster / Carrier: Service and Repair

1983---84 OMEGA
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove 4 steering column lower trim pad attaching screws and the pad.
3. Remove 6 center instrument panel trim cover attaching screws and the cover.
4. Disconnect shift indicator from steering column shift bowl.
5. Remove 4 instrument cluster-to-instrument panel attaching screws.
6. Disconnect speedometer cable from transaxle, or from transducer on models equipped with cruise control.
7. Pull cluster rearward and disconnect speedometer cable.
8. Remove vehicle speed sensor LED/photo cell attaching screw from rear of speedometer head.
9. Remove instrument cluster from vehicle.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
