NOTE Additional functional testing found under System Check. [1][2]System Operation Check
To find out if the air conditioning electrical, vacuum and refrigeration systems are working properly do the following:
1. To get an indication that the electrical circuits are functioning properly, check that the compressor clutch engages and that the blower operates at all four speeds (with the mode lever in any position except "OFF"). The blower will not operate in any speed with the mode lever in the "OFF" position.
2. Touch the evaporator inlet pipe AND the accumulator surface while the system is operating. If they feel about the same temperature, it indicates the system is properly charged.
3. Air is distributed from the proper outlets when the mode lever is moved is an indication of proper vacuum and diaphragm operation.
