1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove left and right instrument panel sound insulators, Fig. 88.
3. Remove steering column trim cover, Fig. 89.
4. Remove mounting bolts and lower steering column.
5. Remove bolts attaching bottom of instrument panel to dash, Fig. 90.
6. Insert a small, flat blade at the inside edge of each side window defroster grille and pry out carefully, Fig. 91.
7. Remove screws attaching top of instrument panel pad to front of dash.
8. Disconnect bulkhead electrical connector.
9. Tilt instrument panel rearward and disconnect aspirator hose, fuse panel, fuel door and rear compartment release switch wires and antenna lead, Fig. 92.
10. Remove instrument panel pad.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
