General System Description
This system provides semi-regulated, controlled interior temperatures, maintains the set comfort level and requires little or no change in setting to compensate for changes in ambient conditions.
This system uses both in-car temperature and the temperature lever settings to signal the programmer. An air inlet on the instrument panel allows air from inside the vehicle to sense the temperature. The air sample, along with the temperature lever position, signals the programmer. The programmer responds by controlling the temperature door which in turn regulates the air outlet temperature.
Operation of this system is controlled by the settings on the control panel. The fan switch controls the amount of air flow varying the blower motor speed. Interior comfort level is controlled by the position of the temperature lever. Overall operation of the system, including fan speed and comfort level control, is determined by the selector lever on the control panel. The selector lever has seven modes of system operation.
