Keyless Entry: Service and Repair

Coding The Transmitter:

1. Open rear compartment lid and position carpet (next to the antenna) aside.

2. Access the program wire terminal.

3. Using a jumper wire with alligator clips, ground the wire terminal to the antenna.
^ The door locks will automatically lock and unlock, indicating that the transmitter is in the programming mode.

Note: Any transmitter that was previously matched, has been erased.

4. With the system still grounded, press any button (only once) on the transmitter.
^ The door locks will automatically lock and unlock, indicating that the transmitter code has been set.

Note: Pressing the button more than once prevents a second transmitter from being programmed. If this mistake is made and you wish to program a second transmitter, unground wire and repeat steps 3 and 4.

5. If coding a second transmitter, repeat step 4.

6. Remove jumper wire.
^ The system will not operate if the jumper wire is not removed.

7. verify operation of the transmitter(s).

8. Properly position the carpet.
