Driver Information System
The Driver Information System receives power from ELEC Fuse at all times. This allows the system to maintain the clock and data while the Ignition Switch is OFF. Voltage is also applied from CLUST Fuse when the Ignition Switch is in RUN, BULB TEST or START. This input allows the system to become fully operational. The Driver Information System is grounded at terminals C1/E and C1/H. Terminal C2/D is a program input that enables the Driver Information System to accept the proper fuel calibration.
The Light On input allows illumination of the Driver Information System keys when the Light Switch is in HEAD or PARK. The Dimmer Control input allows the vacuum fluorescent display and key illumination to be dimmed when the Park Light are on. The Fuel Gage Sender input and Vehicle Speed input are used in calculating distance and fuel consumption data. The Serial Data input allows the Electronic Control Module (ECM) to send information used for the Gage display function. The Serial Data carries RPM, System Voltage, Coolant Temperature and Injector on time information.
