Instrument Cluster / Carrier: Service and Repair

1. Disarm airbag as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION. Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of airbag, possibly causing personal injury.
2. Disconnect battery negative cable.
3. Remove two front retaining screws, two rear retaining nuts, then the courtesy lamp from lefthand side sound insulator.
4. Remove sound insulator from vehicle.
5. Remove two retaining screws from knee bolster, then the bolster from the vehicle.
6. Remove trim plate retaining screws, then the trim plate from vehicle.
7. Remove screws retaining cluster to instrument panel.
8. Pull cluster forward enough to disconnect electrical connectors, then remove cluster from vehicle.
9. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. After all work has been completed, rearm airbag as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.
