Wiper Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disarm airbag as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of airbag, possibly causing personal injury.
2. Remove steering wheel as outlined under STEERING SUSPENSION CHASSIS AND BODY COMPONENTS/STEERING/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT REPAIR PROCEDURES/STEERING WHEEL.
3. Remove access cover from steering column housing.
4. Disconnect electrical connectors, pull lever straight out of switch. The switch must be in the OFF position before removing lever and do not extend lever wire beyond its normal length.
5. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. After all work has been completed, rearm airbag as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION
