SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) is composed of a serial data line leading from the ECM (23) to the control assembly microprocessor (15). Data is sent and received by both the microprocessor (15) and the ECM (23).

CODE 10

Code 10 indicates the microprocessor (15) perceives a fault in the serial data it is receiving. Check for a short or an open in the UART data line. Refer to Diagrams for UART failure diagnosis.
