With Reminder Package

The Multi-Function Chime Module generates audible warnings for the following: Lights "ON" Warning, Ignition Key Warning, Fasten Seat Belt Warning, Low Coolant Warning, Low Fuel Warning, Low Brake Pressure Warning, High Coolant Temperature Warning and Low Oil Pressure Warning. The Lights "ON" Warning, Low Coolant Warning, Low Brake Pressure Warning, High Coolant Temperature Warning and the Low Oil Pressure Warning are pulsed approximately 300 times per minute. The Ignition Key Warning is pulsed approximately 150 times per minute. The Fasten Seat Belt Warning is pulsed approximately 55 times per minute. The Low Fuel Warning is pulsed 3 times and then stops.
The Audio Alarm Module provides a Turn Signal "ON" Reminder. When a turn signal is operated the Audio Alarm Module begins to monitor the distance the vehicle has traveled. If a turn signal is still flashing after the vehicle has traveled .8 km (0.5 mile), the Audio Alarm Module turns the Turn Signal Reminder Warning "ON." This warning is pulsed approximately 300 times per minute, and will continue to sound until the Turn Signal has been turned "OFF."

LIGHTS "ON" WARNING

When the Headlight Switch is in "PARK" or "HEAD" (with Twilight Sentinel in the Manual Mode), voltage is applied to the Lights "ON" Signal of the Multi-Function Chime Module. When the Ignition Switch is turned out of the "RUN" position, voltage is removed from the Ignition Signal of the Chime Module. When voltage is present at the Lights "ON" Signal, and no voltage is applied to the Ignition Signal, the Multi-Function Chime Module will sound the Lights "ON" Warning. The Lights "ON" Warning will remain "ON" until the Headlight Switch is turned to "OFF." When the Twilight Sentinel Module is in Auto Mode, no voltage is applied to the Multi-Function Chime Module, regardless of whether Lights are "ON" or "OFF."

IGNITION KEY WARNING

The Multi-Function Chime Module applies voltage to the Ignition Key Warning Switch at all times. When the Ignition Key is placed into the Ignition Switch, the Ignition Key Warning Switch is closed. When the LH Front Door is open, the LH Front Door Jamb Switch closes the circuit to ground. The Multi-Function Chime Module senses a voltage drop at the Ignition Key Signal and sounds the Ignition Key Warning if the Ignition Switch is in the "OFF" position. The Ignition Key Warning will sound until the Ignition Key is removed from the Ignition Switch or is placed in "ACCY" or "RUN" or until the LH Front Door is closed.

FASTEN SEAT BELT WARNING

The Multi-Function Chime Module applies voltage to the Seat Belt Switch at all times. The Multi-Function Chime Module senses a voltage drop at the Seat Belt Latch Signal through the closed contacts of the Seat Belt Switch when the driver's seat belt is unlatched. When the driver's seat belt is latched, the Seat Belt Switch is opened and the Multi-Function Chime Module senses voltage at the Seat Belt Latch Signal. When the Ignition Switch is turned to "RUN," voltage is applied to the Multi-Function Chime Module Ignition Signal. When voltage is present at the Ignition Signal and no voltage at the Seat Belt Latch Signal, the Multi-Function Chime Module will sound the Fasten Seat Belt Warning for approximately 5 to 8 seconds. If voltage is present at the Ignition Signal and the Seat Belt Latch Signal, the Multi-Function Chime Module will disable the Fasten Seat Belt Warning Chime.
When the Ignition Switch is turned to "RUN," the Multi-Function Chime Module senses voltage at the Ignition Signal. When voltage is applied to the Ignition Signal, the Multi-Function Chime Module applies voltage to the Fasten Seat Belt Indicator for approximately 5 to 8 seconds independent of the Seat Belt Switch and the Fasten Seat Belt Warning Chime.

LOW COOLANT WARNING

With a low coolant condition, the Multi-Function Chime Module senses a varying resistance through the Low Coolant Probe. If voltage is present at the Ignition Signal and a low coolant condition is detected for more than 5 seconds, the Multi-Function Chime Module will activate the Low Coolant Warning for approximately 10 seconds. The Multi-Function Chime Module also provides a ground path for the "LOW COOLANT" Indicator while the low coolant condition is present. After a brief delay, the Module will again initiate the Low Coolant Warning. The Module will continue to cycle the Low Coolant Warning until the Ignition Switch is turned to "OFF" or until the coolant has been raised to a sufficient level for more than 5 seconds.

LOW FUEL WARNING

With the Ignition Switch in "RUN" and the Fuel Tank Unit voltage below 2.65 volts, the Multi-Function Chime Module senses a resistance in the Fuel Tank Unit, which represents approximately 1/8 tank of fuel. When the Module senses this resistance for more than 30 seconds, it activates the Low Fuel Warning. The Low Fuel Warning will sound three times and then shut "OFF." The Module also activates a "LOW FUEL" Indicator. This indicator remains "ON" until the Fuel Tank Unit voltage is above 2.65 volts, or until the fuel tank is sufficiently filled with fuel.

LOW BRAKE PRESSURE WARNING

With the Ignition Switch in "RUN" and the brake pressure low, or unequal, the Multi-Function Chime Module will activate the Low Brake Pressure Warning for 8 to 12 seconds. After a 2 to 3 second delay, the Module will sound the Warning again. This will continue until the Brake Pressure Switch opens (indicating normal brake pressure) or the Ignition Switch is turned to "OFF." The chime will not sound due to the position of the Park Brake.

HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE WARNING

With the Ignition Switch in "RUN" and the Coolant Temperature Switch closed, the Multi-Function Chime Module will activate the High Coolant Temperature Warning. The Warning will sound for 8 to 12 seconds and then pause for 2 to 3 seconds. The Warning will continue to cycle until the Ignition Switch is turned to "OFF" or the Coolant Temperature Switch/Sender opens indicating Coolant Temperature below 126°C (258°F).

LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING

With the Ignition Switch in "RUN," the engine running and the Fuel Pump Switch/Oil Pressure Sender voltage less that 2.5 volts, the Multi-Function Chime Module will activate the Low Oil Pressure Warning. The Warning will sound for 8 to 12 seconds and then pause for 2 to 3 seconds. The Warning will continue to cycle until the Ignition Switch is turned to "OFF" or the oil pressure becomes normal. The Warning Chime will not sound due to lack of oil pressure if the engine stalls.
