1. Disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove left side sound insulator attaching screw and nut, then pull insulator down and rearward Fig. 85.
4. Disconnect courtesy lamp and remove sound insulator.
5. Remove right side sound insulator screw, then the ALDL connector.
6. Pull sound insulator down and rearward, then disconnect engine oil change indicator and courtesy lamp.
7. Remove air outlet deflector from left side trim panel by prying one side outward.
8. Remove three air outlets from right side trim plate.
9. Remove two center trim plates retaining screws, then pull trim plate rearward and disconnect electrical connectors.
10. Remove five cluster trim plate attaching screws, then tilt plate rearward and disconnect drivers display connectors.
11. Remove defogger/heated windshield switches, then the trim plate.
12. Remove three steering column filler attaching screws, then the filler.
13. Remove four instrument panel compartment door bolts, then compartment door.
14. Remove six steering column support bracket brace bolts, Fig. 86.
15. Remove transmission lever control handle, armrest bin and rear vent trim.
16. Remove two center console trim plate retaining bolts, then the trim plate, Fig. 87.
17. Disconnect trim plate connectors, then remove center console.
18. Remove four instrument cluster attaching screws, then pull cluster rearward.
19. Disconnect shift indicator cable and cluster connectors, then remove the cluster assembly.
20. Remove telltale lamps from back of cluster by turning counterclockwise.
21. Remove headlamp switch, heater and A/C controls, trunk security switch and traction control switch/electronic suspension control switch.
22. Remove rear deck lid and fuel door release switches, driver information display switch, defogger/heated windshield switches, twilight sentinel switch, twilight sensor, sunload sensor and windshield defogger grille
23. Remove side window defogger outlets and ventilation outlet ducts.
24. Remove four radio retaining screws, then pull radio rearward and disconnect connectors and antenna.
25. Remove four compact disc player retaining screws, then pull disc player rearward and disconnect electrical connector.
26. Remove multi-function alarm module, RAC module, low oil level module, powertrain control module and electronic brake control module.
27. Reverse procedure to install.
28. Reactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
