Test A: Antenna/Transmitter Operation Test

A: ANTENNA/TRANSMITTER OPERATION TEST

1. Disconnect the Antenna from the Keyless Entry Module. Hold a Transmitter close to the Keyless Entry Module and push the Unlock Button.
^ If the LH Door does not unlock go to step 2.
^ If the LH Door does unlock, go to step 3.

2. Reprogram Keyless Entry Module and repeat step 1.
^ If LH Door still does not unlock, go to B: Power and Ground Test.
^ If LH Door unlocks, reprogram the Keyless Entry Module using the other Transmitter.

3. Check Antenna connections at Keyless Entry Module and at Rear Window for good contact. Also check RKE Antenna Ground.

4. Check continuity of Antenna Grid on the top of Rear Window by measuring resistance. Place one meter probe at one end of the grid, and the other probe on the connector terminal associated with that side. If the meter reads an open, there is a break in the grid. The location of the break can be found by moving the outer probe towards the connector, keeping the probe in contact with the grid. The break is located at the point where the resistance drops. If the Antenna Grid is OK, the problem is in the Coaxial Cable.
