System Checks

1. Put the Ignition Switch in the OFF position.

^ PRND321 is displayed (Digital Cluster only).

2. Put the Ignition Switch in the RUN position.

^ INFLATABLE RESTRAINT Indicator flashes 7 to 9 times and then goes out.
^ SECURITY indicator lights for 2 seconds and then goes out.
^ SERVICE ENGINE SOON Indicator lights and stays on.
^ ANTI-LOCK Indicator lights for a few seconds and then goes out.
^ If Park Brake is on, BRAKE Indicator lights and stays on.
^ Speedometer displays zero.
^ Engine TEMP Gage reads engine temperature.
^ OIL Pressure Gage reads LO.
^ FUEL Gage reads present level.
^ VOLTS Gage reads present system voltage.
^ Information Center displays any messages that are stored. If there are no messages Tachometer scale (Digital Cluster) or TORONADO/TROFFEO will be displayed.
^ Odometer displays total mileage or trip mileage.

3. Start Engine

^ INFLATABLE RESTRAINT Indicator comes on steady during crank, then flashes 7 to 9 times again when engine is running and goes out.
^ FASTEN BELTS Indicator lights for a few seconds and then goes out.
^ SERVICE ENGINE SOON Indicator goes out.
^ ANTI-LOCK Indicator lights for a few seconds and then goes out.
^ All gauges display status.

4. Press the Fuel Gauge Scale button (Digital Cluster Only).

^ 1/4 tank fuel gauge scale is displayed in place of full fuel gauge scale for 10 seconds after button has been released.

5. Press the Tach Switch (Digital Cluster Only).

^ Tachometer will be displayed on the Information Center or TORONADO, if TACH was displayed first.

6. Press the English/Metric Switch (With U68 Only).

^ The Speedometer (Digital Cluster), Odometer, A/C temperature and driver's information changes from English to Metric or Metric to English.

7. Press the ODO/TRIP button (With U68 Only).

^ Season Odometer display changes to Trip Odometer.

8. Press the Trip Reset button only if a problem is suspected with this function (With U68 Only).

^ Trip Odometer will reset to 000.0.

9. Press the ODO/TRIP button again (With U68 Only).

^ Trip Odometer display changes to Season Odometer.

10. Press and hold the System Monitor button (With U68 Only).

^ Any stored messages are displayed. If no messages are present, MONITOR SYSTEM OK should appear.
