Lighting and Horns: Description and Operation
Illuminated Entry is controlled by the Body Computer Module (BCM). Voltage is applied at all times through Fuse 2 to the Courtesy Lights and the coil of the Courtesy Lights Relay B. The relay is grounded to ground G310.When a door handle is lifted. the Door Handle Switch Input to the BCM is grounded. The BCM energizes the Courtesy Lights Relay; the contacts close and the Courtesy Lights are turned on. When the doors are closed, the BCM continues to energize the relay and keeps the Courtesy Lights on for about 20 seconds. If the Ignition Switch is turned to RUN during this time, the BCM de-energizes the relay and the Courtesy Lights turn off.
If the doors are left open for more than 10 minutes, the BCM will de-energize the relay and the Courtesy Lights will go out.
