Input Test: BI06 (LH/RH Door Handle Switch)
Door Handle Switches:
PROPER BI06 DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAYS
- HI is displayed with LH and RH door handles released.
- LO is displayed momentarily with LH and/or RH door handles lifted, then reverts to HI X.
Note: BI06 displays LO momentarily throughout test. HI X will be displayed after LO has been momentarily displayed. HI X denotes the condition has changed.
TESTS FOR IMPROPER DISPLAYS
BIO6 displays HI with LH and/or RH door handle lifted, but HI X does not appear.
1. Disconnect suspect Door Handle Switch connector and connect a fused jumper wire from connector terminal B to A.
^ If display reads HI, go to step 2.
^ If display reads LO or HI X, replace Door Handle Switch.
2. Ground terminal B of the suspect Door Handle Switch connector with the fused jumper.
^ If display reads HI, go to step 3.
^ If display reads LO or HI X, repair open in BLK/WHT (803) wire.
3. Connect terminal 1C13 of Body Computer Module (BCM) to ground with a fused jumper.
^ If display reads HI, check terminal contact. Replace the Body Computer Module (BCM) if terminal contact is good.
^ If display reads LO or HI X, repair GRY (157) wire for an open.
BI06 displays LO with LH and RH door handle released
1. Disconnect LH Door Handle Switch connector.
^ If display reads LO, go to step 2.
^ If display reads HI, replace the LH Door Handle Switch.
2. Disconnect RH Door Handle Switch connector.
^ If display reads LO, go to step 3.
^ If display reads HI, replace the RH Door Handle Switch.
3. Disconnect Keyless Entry Module connector.
^ If display reads LO, go to step 4.
^ If display reads HI, replace Keyless Entry Module.
4. Disconnect the Body Computer Module (BCM). Connect a ohmmeter to terminal 1C13 of the BCM connector and ground.
^ If continuity is measured, check/repair GRY (157) wire for a short to ground.
^ If infinite resistance is measured, check for clean connection. If connection is good, replace Body Computer Module (BCM).
