Trunk / Liftgate: Description and Operation

NON-CONVERTIBLE
Voltage is applied at all times through the trunk release fuse to the trunk lid release switch. With the switch closed and the transaxle position switch in park, (Automatic Transaxle), voltage is applied to the trunk lid release solenoid, releasing the trunk lid.

CONVERTIBLE
The Trunk Lid Release works the same as above except the convertible has a Trunk Lid Release Lockout Switch located in the Trunk. When the Trunk Lid Release Switch is moved to the LOCK" position, the switch removes voltage from the Trunk Lid Release Solenoid. This prevents the Trunk Release Switch from opening the Trunk.
