Electrical Connections and Circuits

When Working With Electrical Connections Observe The Following Precautions:
1. Fully release connector locks prior to disconnecting.
2. Be sure connector insulators and shields are in place and connectors are fully seated.
3. Never connect or disconnect electrical connections with the ignition switch in the "ON" position, unless specifically directed to do so in a test procedure.
4. Never use a self powered test lamp to check continuity.
5. Avoid arcing or shorting when working on, or testing circuits.
6. Do not probe wires through insulation, damage to the insulation can lead to corrosion of the wire, causing system failure. If insulation is damaged, or pierced, cover hole with thin layer of silicone grease.
7. Never pierce ignition leads or insulator boots to connect timing lights or analyzers. Use proper adapters.
