Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (Perform before beginning System Diagnosis)

NOTE:
^ If vehicle is left for 24 or more days without the Ignition Switch being put in "RUN", the Illuminated Entry feature will be disabled to decrease parasitic battery drain. Putting the Ignition Switch in "RUN" will restore this feature.

^ Interrupting battery voltage to the Multi-Function Alarm module by disconnecting the vehicle's battery or disconnecting the module will cause the interior lights on delay to be only 2 to 4 minutes, until the vehicle has travelled more than 15 miles with battery power restored to the module.

^ The Multi-function Alarm Module controls Interior Lights and generates chime alarms. It also controls Automatic Door Lock and Seat Belt Release Solenoids. Verify that all chime alarms operate before proceeding with following diagnostic text. If any chime alarms do not operate, see Instrument Panel Gauges and Warning Indicators/Audible Warning Device. Audible Warning Device

1. If none of the courtesy lights work from the keyless entry, but are otherwise ok, refer to Body and Frame/Locks/Keyless Entry. Keyless Entry
2. If only one light does not operate, check bulb and related wiring.
3. Check that the Multi-function Alarm Module is properly seated.
4. If Power Door Locks do not operate, check CTSY Fuse.
5. If Interior Lights are intermittently inoperative, check that there are no Interior Lights left on, especially the Luggage Compartment and I/P Compartment Lights.
6. Refer to System Diagnosis.
