CONDITION: (Figure 1 and 2)
Some owners may experience an automatic transaxle fluid leak between the structural side cover pan and transaxle case.

CAUSE: (Figure 3)
A casting change was implemented to transaxle case i.d. 723 which reduced the thickness of a section of case wall affecting the side cover gasket's sealing ability when used with a structural cover pan.

CORRECTION:
Replace the original case side cover gasket with a new replacement service gasket. The replacement gasket listed below should only be used on 1993-94 4T60-E transaxles that contain a structural side cover pan, case i.d. 723 and an external side pan leak.

NOTE:
This bulletin only pertains to vehicles that contain a structural side cover and case i.d. 723. External leaks on transaxles that contain a stamped (steel) side cover pan or transaxles with structural side covers and case i.d.'s other than 723 should refer to the appropriate service manual (Section 7A Automatic Transaxle On-Vehicle Service) for information regarding fluid leak diagnosis.
