Troubleshooting Hints

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check TURN B/U Fuse by operating turn signals. If open, check wiring to Rear Compartment Lid Release Solenoid (Sedan) or to Release Relay (Wagon) for a short to ground.
2. If Rear Compartment Lid Release Solenoid doesn't function from Remote Keyless Entry transmitter, refer to Keyless Entry. Keyless Entry
3. Check PWR/ACC Circuit Breaker for an open (Wagon only).
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
