Heater Core: Service and Repair

WITH A/C

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
2. Remove upper dash weatherstrip and upper secondary cowl.
3. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core.
4. Remove sound insulator, rear seat duct adapter and heater duct.
5. Remove heater core cover, then the heater core.
6. Reverse procedure to install.


LESS A/C

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
2. Remove upper secondary cowl panel.
3. Remove heater hose retaining bracket nuts.
4. Remove upper nut securing lower secondary cowl panel.
5. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core.
6. Blow air through heater core nipples to remove coolant from core.
7. Remove lower right sound insulator panel.
8. Remove rear seat duct adapter, then the heater floor duct.
9. Remove lower left sound insulator panel.
10. Remove heater core cover attaching screws, then the cover.
11. Remove heater core retaining bolt, then the heater core.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
