P1567
Code P1567, Cruise Switches Circuit:
Cruise Switches Circuit:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
CKT 639 is controlled by the ignition switch and protected by a 15 amp fuse. It provides system voltage to the cruise control switches and cruise brake switch as well as other circuits.
DTC P1567 WILL SET WHEN:
One of the following conditions are met.
^ CKT 397 ("ON/OFF" switch) is open between cruise engage switch and the PCM.
^ CKT 84 (set/coast switch) is indicated closed for over 7.5 minutes (switch problem).
^ CKT 87 (resume/accel switch) is indicated closed for over 7.5 minutes (switch problem).
^ CKT 86 is open to the PCM (no change in the status of the cruise brake switch) when the vehicle makes 5 stops from 35 mph (for more than 10 seconds) down to 0 mph.
^ Any of the above circuits are shorted to voltage.
ACTION TAKEN (PCM will default to):
The PCM will not allow cruise control operation with a current DTC P1567 set. DTC P1567 does not illuminate the MIL (Service Engine Soon).
NOTE: A short to ground in CKTs 397, 84, 86 or 87 will cause a failure of the cruise engagement switch. It will not blow the 15 amp fuse for CKT 639.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a wire broken inside the insulation.
Check for:
^ Poor connection or damaged harness - Inspect harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal to wire connection, and damaged harness.
