Circuit Operation - Interior Lights Dimming

With the Head/Park Lamp Switch in HEAD or PARK, voltage is applied to the Interior Lamp Control Module. The Headlamp Switch Assembly applies a variable control voltage to the Interior Lamp Control module. The potentiometer in the Headlamp Switch Assembly cannot provide enough current to operate the panel lamps. The module amplifies the current and applies a variable voltage to the panel lamps. If a short-to ground exists in the panel lamps, the Interior Lamp Control module will enter the short circuit protection mode. Once the short circuit is removed, the Interior Lamp Control module will return to normal mode after turning the headlamp switch "OFF" and then ON again. If a short to ground exists in the Steering Wheel Controls, Fuse 4A will open.
