Trunk Lamp: Description and Operation

When a door is opened or the panel/interior lamp control is operated, a ground path is provided to light the footwell, door, rail, header courtesy lamps and the door waning lamps (if equipped).

The front door lock switch illumination lamps come ON with the head/park lamp switch at HEAD or PARK. Voltage is also applied to the engine compartment lamp. It lights when its switch closes, providing a ground path.

The head/park lamp switch Illumination and console shift lamps come ON with the ignition switch in "RUN." Voltage is also applied to the I/P compartment lamp. It lights when the I/P compartment is opened, closing its switch and providing a ground path.

The luggage compartment lamp comes ON when the luggage compartment lid is opened, closing its switch and providing a ground path. The vanity mirror lamps come ON when the visor is lowered, closing its cover switch.
