Fig. 18 I/P Upper Trim Pad Removal:

1. Remove instrument panel molding attaching screws, then carefully pull instrument panel molding rearward.
2. Pry defroster grill upward and remove sunload and twilight sentinel sensors.
3. Remove defroster grill from upper trim panel.
4. Tilt top of instrument cluster trim plate rearward, then pull bottom of trim plate rearward.
5. Disconnect HVAC control head and headlamp switch electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect HVAC control head vacuum harness connector.
7. Remove HVAC control head and headlamp switch from instrument cluster trim plate.
8. Remove instrument cluster trim plate.
9. Remove instrument panel upper trim pad attaching screws, then the trim pad from the instrument panel, Fig. 18.
10. Disconnect PRNDL cable.
11. Remove instrument cluster attaching screws, then the cluster from instrument panel.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
