DTC 11
ABS Warning Lamp Circuit Malfunction:
ABS Warning Lamp Circuit Malfunction:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This DTC checks the state of ABS warning lamp circuit to identify a situation in which the driver could not be alerted to a system malfunction. Due to an integral lamp driver module within the instrument cluster, the EBCM/EBTCM must provide a ground to turn the "ANTILOCK" indicator "OFF."
DTC WILL SET WHEN
The indicator lamp circuit is open or shorted to ground/battery. This malfunction prevents the EBCM/EBTCM from controlling the "ANTILOCK" indicator lamp.
ACTION TAKEN
A malfunction code is stored but ABS remains functional.
DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for a short to ground in CKT 852. CKT 852 is the "ANTILOCK" indicator input from the EBCM/EBTCM.
2. Checks for a short to voltage in CKT 852.
3. Checks for an open in CKT 852
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Possible Causes:
^ Lamp circuit open.
^ Lamp circuit shorted to ground
^ Lamp circuit shorted to voltage greater than 4.5 volts.
^ Check wiring and connectors between the EBCM/EBTCM and the LDM.
It is very important that a thorough inspection of the wiring and connectors be performed. Failure to carefully and fully inspect wiring and connectors may result in misdiagnosis, causing part replacement with reappearance of the malfunction.
