Interior Lamps
COURTESY LAMPSThe courtesy lamps come on when any door is opened, when the interior lamp switch is in the ON position, or when activated by unlocking the doors using the keyless entry transmitter (illuminated entry). The courtesy lamps will also light for approximately 25 seconds and fade out when the key is removed from the ignition switch when all doors are closed.
Voltage is applied at all times through the RH Rear Power Distribution Center Fuse Block #1 PWR DR LK Fuse through the Body Control Module (MALL) to the courtesy lamps. When the MALL Module receives a signal from a door being opened, the interior lamp switch being turned ON, or the doors being unlocked using the keyless entry transmitter it provides a ground through CKT 156 (WHT) for the courtesy lamps, and the courtesy lamps then light.
When the courtesy lamps are activated by opening and closing a door, the courtesy lamps will remain on for approximately 25 seconds and fade out after all doors have been closed. If the ignition switch is turned to START or RUN within the 25 seconds, the lamps will immediately begin to fade out. If a door is left open, the MALL Module will remove power to the courtesy lamps after 10 minutes. When the courtesy lamps are activated by the interior lamp switch, the lamps will remain on as long as the interior lamp switch is in the ON position. When the courtesy lamps are activated by unlocking the doors using the keyless entry transmitter, the lamps will remain on for approximately 40 seconds. If the doors are locked using the keyless entry transmitter within the 40 seconds, the lamps will immediately begin to fade out.
