Component Tests and General Diagnostics
1. Check TRUNK REL/RFA Fuse by visual inspection.2. Verify that grounds G401 and G402 are clean and tight.
3. Always check terminal contact before replacing any component.
4. If a second transmitter is available, try it. If it works, change the batteries in the first transmitter and try it again. Also try reprogramming the transmitter. If still not operational, replace the transmitter.
5. Check Transmitter battery and terminals. The battery should be installed properly (positive side down) and the terminals clean and make good contact with the battery. If in doubt as to the condition of the Transmitter batteries, replace them with new ones.
7. Verify that Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Program Connector terminals have not been jumpered leaving Receiver in program mode. Verify that circuit 1455 is not shorted to ground and that circuit 850 is not open.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage check (refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
