In this mode of operation, the scan tool can command the Body Function Controller (BFC) to read from the Instrument Cluster pertinent information about the Instrument Cluster (Part Number, Calibration ID and the year of construction), the information that can be read is listed in TABLE #4 shown in the above figure.
