Troubleshooting Hints - Exterior Lights
1. Check the TURN LPS, HAZARD LPS, PARK LPS, and STOP LPS Fuses by visual inspection.2. If the Front Park Lamps are inoperative with the Headlamp Switch in PARK or HEAD, but operate with the Automatic Lamp Control ON, repair open in circuit 9 between the Underhood Bussed Electrical Center (U/H BEC) and the RH I/P Bussed Electrical Center (RH I/P BEC). Refer to Wiring Repair in Wiring Systems.
3. If all Hazard and turn Lamps are inoperative, check Hazard Switch for a sticking or binding condition. If OK, refer to All Hazard Lamps Do Not Operate diagnostic table. All Hazard Lamps Do Not Operate
4. If the Rear Marker Lamps are inoperative with Automatic Lamp Control ON, but operate with the Headlamp Switch in PARK or HEAD, repair open in circuit 9 between the U/H BEC and the RH I/P BEC. Refer to Wiring Repair in Wiring Systems.
5. If only one bulb is inoperative, check bulb, connections, and related wiring for open.
6. Check Body Function Controller (BFC) for stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) if Park Lamps do not light when dark.
7. If turn Lamps flash at two times the normal rate, check for faulty connection or failed bulb.
8. If a turn Indicator is inoperative, check bulb and related wiring. If OK, replace Instrument Cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Replacement Procedure. Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
