System Diagnosis - Charging System

Before removing any component in the cranking circuit for repair, the following checks should be made.

BATTERY
Refer to Battery Testing to determine battery condition. Testing and Inspection

WIRING
Inspect for wiring damage. Inspect connections to the cranking motor, solenoid, ignition switch, and battery, including all ground points. Clean and tighten all connections as required.

STARTER SOLENOID AND IGNITION SWITCH
Inspect to determine their condition.
