Brake Pedal Replacement

Removing/Installing Brake Pedal Assembly:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Disable SIR system.
2. Remove instrument panel assembly.
3. Electrical connectors from switch.
4. Two bolts.
5. Pushrod from pushrod pin.
6. Barrier.
7. Four nuts from booster studs.
8. Brake pedal assembly.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Brake pedal assembly onto booster studs.
2. Apply lubricant, GM P/N 9985164 or equivalent, to pushrod pin.
3. Hand start two bolts through brake pedal assembly into cowl bar and steering column support.
4. Pushrod onto pushrod pin. Secure with spacer and retainer.
5. Four nuts onto booster studs. Tighten Nuts to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
6. Barrier onto brake pedal assembly. Align with booster studs.
7. Torque bolt (1) first, and then bolt (2). Tighten Bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
8. Electrical connectors to switch.
9. Instrument panel assembly.
10. Enable SIR system.
