Axle Shaft Assembly: Testing and Inspection

Clicking noise in turns:
^ Worn or damaged outboard joint; check for cut or damaged seals.
"Clunk" when accelerating from coasting:
^ Worn or damaged CV joint.
Shudder or vibration during acceleration:
^ Excessive joint angle due to incorrect toe-in or trim height.
^ Worn or damaged inboard or outboard joints.
^ Sticking spider (tripot joint).
Vibration at highway speeds:
^ Out of balance front wheels or tires.
^ Out of round front tires.
^ Worn CV joint.
^ Binding or tight joint.
