Heater and Temperature Valves

Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Instrument Panel and Console.
3. Floor heater duct connector.
4. Heater outlet.
5. Heater core cover.
^ There is a mounting screw located in a recess in the center of the cover
6. Heater valve lever link.
7. Heater valve.
8. Drain Coolant.
9. Heater hoses from heater core.
10. Heater core.
11. Heater core shroud.
^ There is a mounting screw located at the middle of the front of dash.
12. Temperature motor from temperature valve.
13. Clip securing the motor end of temperature valve shaft.
14. Temperature valve from module by sliding valve to the right and pulling valve down until motor end of valve can be removed.

Install or Connect

1. Temperature valve to module by inserting motor end of valve into module and pushing valve up into the module until the valve seats.
2. Clip securing the motor end of temperature valve shaft.
3. Temperature motor to temperature valve.

Tighten
^ Screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Heater core shroud.

Tighten
^ Screw to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

5. Heater core and strap.

Tighten
^ Screws to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

6. Heater hoses to heater core.
7. Coolant.
8. Heater valve.
9. Heater valve lever link.
10. Heater core cover.

Tighten
^ Screws to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

11. Heater outlet.

Tighten
^ Screws to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

12. Floor heater duct connector.
13. Instrument Panel and Console
14. Negative battery cable.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
