Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights
1. If only one lamp does not operate, check bulb and related wiring.2. If Interior Lamps remain on for over 20 minutes, refer to Body Function Controller (BFC) in Computer System Diagnosis.
3. If Courtesy Lamps remain lit after all doors are closed, check Door Ajar Indicator on Instrument Cluster with the Ignition Switch in the ON position. If Door Ajar Indicator remains on, refer to Audible Warning for Door Ajar Switch diagnosis.
4. If all Interior Lamps are inoperative, check INT LPS Fuse by visual inspection.
5. If Cigar Lighter and Auxiliary Power Outlet are inoperative. check AUX PWR CIGAR Fuse by visual inspection.
6. If Interior lamps are intermittently inoperative. Check that there are no Interior Lamps left on, especially the Luggage Compartment and I/P Compartment Lamps.
7. If Dome Lamp is inoperative from one door. refer to Audible Warning for Door Ajar Switch diagnosis. Audible Warning Device
8. If the Courtesy Lamps are inoperative with Keyless Entry transmitter, but otherwise operate normally, refer to Keyless Entry. Keyless Entry
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded. and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (Refer to Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
