PRNDL

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) reads the Transaxle Range Switch and transmits the selected gear position over Class 2. The Body Function Controller (BFC) retransmits this information to the Instrument Cluster via the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) data link. The Instrument Cluster must turn on the correct indicator and perform a scrolling function. In the event of a Class 2 serial data or Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) failure the PRNDL will not be illuminated.
