Low Fuel Level Indicator - Range on/Off
This data indicates what message is being sent from the
Body Function Controller (BFC) to the Instrument Cluster to control the Low Fuel Level indicator illumination. On, is displayed when fuel level has dropped to a point below 1/8 of a tank. Off, is displayed when the free level has risen above 1/4 of a tank. The
Body Function Controller (BFC) reads the Fuel Level Sensor value in ohms (less than
59 ohms) and filters it to prevent fuel gage slosh from prematurely turning the Low Fuel Level indicator on. The Body Function Controller (BFC) then sends a Serial Peripheral Interface
(SPI) serial data message to the Instrument Cluster commanding it to illuminate the Low Fuel Level indicator.
