Brake Indicator - Range on/Off

This data indicates what message is being sent from the Body Function Controller (BFC) to the Instrument Cluster to control the BRAKE indicator illumination. On, is displayed when one) the Park Brake is engaged or two) the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) sends a Class 2 serial data message to the Body Function Controller (BFC) indicating there is a Brake Fail Condition. The Body Function Controller (BFC) then sends a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) serial data message to the Instrument Cluster commanding the BRAKE indicator to be illuminated. Off, is displayed when the Parking Brake is not engaged and the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) is not sending a Class 2 serial data message indicating a brake fail condition. In the event of the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) commanding the BRAKE indicator to illuminate the Cruise function will be canceled. In the event of class 2 serial data loss, the BRAKE indicator will illuminate. In the event of an Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) data line failure the BRAKE indicator will not illuminate unless the BRAKE indicator was illuminated prior to the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) data line failure.
