Instrument Panel (IP) - Carrier Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
2. Remove the end caps.
3. Remove the sound insulators.
4. Remove the compartment.
5. Remove the passenger inflator module.
6. Remove the tilt steering lever.
7. Remove the upper and the lower steering column covers.
8. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate.
9. Remove the instrument panel cluster.
10. Remove the driver inflator module.
11. Remove the steering wheel.
12. Remove the accessory trim plate.
13. Remove the radio.
14. Remove the cup holder.
15. Remove the gearshift handle.
16. Remove the gearshift trim plate.
17. Remove the console.
18. Remove the ignition switch bolts.
19. Remove the instrument panel upper bolt covers.
20. Disconnect the electrical connections from the electrical junction box.
21. Remove the fog lamp switch.
22. Remove the windshield side upper garnish molding.
23. Loosen the center console.
Pull the console rearward in order to disengage the console from the instrument panel (1).
24. Remove the screws (2,3,4) connecting the instrument panel (1) to the tie bar (6).
25. Remove the instrument panel (1) from the tie bar (6).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: When installing the instrumental panel carrier to the vehicle, ensure that the cowl seal is seated properly to the cowl. Failure to do so may cause a vibration rattle between the carrier and the cowl.
1. Install the instrument panel (1) to the tie bar (6).
2. Install the screws (2,3,4) connecting the instrument panel (1) to the tie bar (6).
3. Install the windshield side upper garnish molding.
4. Install the fog lamp switch.
5. Install the electrical connectors junction box.
6. Install the instrument panel upper bolt covers.
7. Install the ignition switch bolts.
8. Install the gearshift trim plate.
9. Install the gearshift handle.
10. Install the cup holder.
11. Install the radio.
12. Install the accessory trim plate.
13. Install the steering wheel.
14. Install the driver inflator module.
15. Install the instrument panel cluster.
16. Install the instrument panel cluster trim plate.
17. Install the steering column upper and lower covers.
18. Install the tilt steering lever.
19. Install the passenger inflator module.
20. Install the compartment.
21. Install the sound insulators.
22. Install the end caps.
23. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System.
