Volume Control (Vol)

A single multifunction rotary/push control provides the following functions:
^ The ON/OFF power
^ The volume control

The volume control portion of the switch is a continuous rotary detent type with 36 detents per revolution. You may increase or decrease the volume over a range of 64 possible steps. The volume function will not be available during radio conditions that do not permit audio output such as actively seeking/scanning in tuner or tape modes. Each momentary button closure causes the volume to increase or decrease by 1 step. Pressing either one of these buttons causes the volume to change at a rate of 12 steps per second.
