Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the fasteners (1) from the sound insulator to IP lower.
2. Remove the courtesy lamp (3) from sound insulator by twisting a quarter turn counter-clockwise.
3. Disengage the data link connector from the insulator panel.
4. Pull the sound insulator (2) rearward and remove from vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install pin (4) into accelerator hole (Oldsmobile only).
2. Install the courtesy lamp (3) to the sound insulator by twisting clockwise a quarter turn.
3. Fasten the data link connector to the insulator panel.
4. Raise the sound insulator (2) up to the IP lower.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the sound insulator fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
