Brake Warning System Circuit Description

The PARK indicator located in the instrument cluster is controlled by the following components on circuit 33 (TAN/WHT):
^ When the ignition switch is turned from the RUN to START positions, the ignition switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A9 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT).
^ When the park brake is applied, the park brake switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A9 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT). If the ignition switch is in the RUN or START positions, the indicator illuminates.

When the park brake switch closes a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A9 (CKT 33, TAN/WHT). When the instrument cluster detects this condition and the vehicle detects a VSS input the following functions are performed:
- The instrument cluster displays the PARK BRAKE SET message on the driver information center.
- Commands the body control module to activate a chime, via circuit 1845 (LT GRN).

The BRAKE FLUID indicator located in the remote indicator bank is controlled by the following components on circuit 209 (PPL):
^ When the ignition switch is turned from the RUN to START positions, the ignition switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A2 (CKT 209, PPL).
^ When the brake fluid level is low, the brake fluid level switch closes and a low (ground) condition exists at terminal A2 (CKT 209, PPL). If the ignition switch is in the RUN or START positions, the indicator illuminates.

When the brake fluid switch closes a low (ground) condition exists at terminal B2 (CKT 209, PPL). When the instrument cluster detects this condition the following functions are performed:
- The instrument cluster displays the LOW BRAKE FLUID message on the driver information center.
- Commands the body control module to activate a chime, via circuit 1845 (LT GRN).
