Instrument Panel (IP) - Carrier Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
3. Remove the defroster grille.
4. Remove the end caps.
5. Remove the instrument panel compartment.
6. Remove the left front and right sound insulators.
7. Remove the passenger side SIR inflator module.
8. Remove the steering wheel.
9. Remove the multifunction switch.
10. Remove the column covers.
11. Remove the steering column stalks.
12. Remove the cluster trim plate.
13. Remove the accessory trim plate.
14. Remove the instrument panel cluster.
15. Remove the HVAC controls.
16. Remove the radio and the remote cassette player.
17. Remove the ignition switch.
18. Remove the upper pillar garnish molding.
19. Remove the center console. Pull the console rearward in order to disengage the console from the instrument panel (1).
20. Remove the cigarette lighter.
21. Remove the ashtray.
22. Remove the screws (2,3,4) connecting the instrument panel (1) to the tie bar (6).
23. Remove the instrument panel (1) from the tie bar (6).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the instrument panel (1) to the tie bar (6).
2. Install the screws (2,3,4) connecting the instrument panel (1) to the tie bar (6).
3. Install the ash tray.
4. Install the cigarette lighter.
5. Install the center console.
6. Install the upper pillar garnish molding.
7. Install the ignition switch.
8. Install the radio and the remote cassette player, if needed.
9. Install the HVAC controls.
10. Install the instrument panel cluster.
11. Install the cluster trim plate.
12. Install the accessory trim plate.
13. Install the steering column stalks.
14. Install the steering column covers.
15. Install the multifunction switch.
16. Install the steering wheel.
17. Install the passenger side SIR inflator module.
18. Install the left and right sound insulators.
19. Install the end cap.
20. Install the instrument panel compartment.
21. Install the defroster grille.
22. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
