IMPORTANT: In testing for opens or shorts, do not ground or apply voltage to any of the instrument cluster circuits, unless you are instructed to do so by the diagnostic procedures.

The instrument cluster is designed in order to withstand normal current drains associated with vehicle operations. Avoid overloading any circuits. Only test these circuits using the J 39200 DMM. Refer to ESD Notice in Cautions and Notices.
