Theft System Indicator(s)
SECURITYThe IPC illuminates the SECURITY indicator as determined by the Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) system and the Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the Rear Integration Module (RIM) or the theft deterrent control module requesting illumination.
^ The VTD system requests the IPC to illuminate the indicator only when the ignition switch is ON. The VTD system uses the indicator in order to identify system status.
^ The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with either the RIM or the theft deterrent control module.
^ The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle. The indicator illuminates for approximately 5 seconds.
STARTING DISABLED - 33
The DIC displays the STARTING DISABLED - 33 message when the theft deterrent control module disables the vehicle from starting. The DIC receives a class 2 message from the theft deterrent control module requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
THEFT ATTEMPTED - 25
The DIC displays the THEFT ATTEMPTED - 25 message when the Rear Integration Module (RIM) detects a potential vehicle theft. The DIC receives a class 2 message from the RIM requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
THEFT SYSTEM FAULT - 12
The DIC displays the THEFT SYSTEM FAULT - 12 message when the theft deterrent control module detects a malfunction in the theft system. The DIC receives a class 2 message from the theft deterrent control module requesting illumination.
KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM (W/AU0)
The keyless entry system functions interact with the content theft deterrent system but is diagnosed as a stand-alone system. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation in keyless Entry.
RADIO WITH THEFTLOCK
The theft deterrent system does not interact with radio theft lock equipped vehicles. Radio theft lock is diagnosed as a stand-alone system. Refer to Radio/Audio System Description and Operation in Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc.
