Change Engine Oil

The DIC displays the CHANGE OIL NOW - 2 message when the PCM determines that the engine oil life has reached 0%. The DIC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning. Once the oil is changed, perform the engine oil monitor reset procedure in order to clear the CHANGE OIL NOW message. Refer to GM Oil Life System Resetting in Maintenance and Lubrication.
